Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG

Production AreaPiedmont Region - Nizza Monferrato in the Province of Asti

SoilLimestone, calcareous, and maritime minerals. Continental climate

WinemakingBased on the Asti DOCG appellation requirements, our wine is aged for at least 2 years, 6 months of these are in small, French/American oak barrels. Maceration and fermentation are carried out in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notesThis wine has a rich ruby red color with violet hues. The bouquet is succulent with notes of rich jam, chocolate, blackberries, and hints of vanilla. The wine has a good structure with a nice balance of acidity. The round tannins provide a good structure for the wine.

PairingEnjoy this wine with favorite Piedmont dishes like agnolotti, savory pastas, and/or grilled or roasted meats. The fresh acidity and juiciness of the Barbera grape make it a perfect "now" wine, while the structure creates the opportunity to save for those special occasions 8 to 10 years down the road. Serve between 16-18° C / 60-64° F. Open 1-2 hours before serving.
